Violence sends Hong Kong into "very dangerous situation": HKSAR chief executive

Chief executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam meets the press in Hong Kong, south China, Oct. 8, 2019. Lam said Tuesday that the "unprecedented violence" these days have sent Hong Kong into "a very dangerous situation," urging foreign politicians to stop supporting rioters by glamorizing them. Before presiding over a regular Executive Council meeting, Lam told the press that the recent violent acts were "lawless and bottomless" and completely disregarded law and order, vowing to stop violence with utmost determination and resolution.
