Hong Kong stocks closed down 715.35 points, or 2.77 percent, to 25,130.35 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 25,055.27 and 25,824.44. Turnover totaled 68.05 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 8.68 billion U.S. dollars).
