Beijing to launch campaign to improve catering industry

BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Beijing will launch a campaign to improve the capital's catering industry, the Beijing Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.

The campaign will include improving the sanitary standards of restaurant kitchens, dining areas and restrooms.

A specific plan will come soon with suggestions such as indicating allergens on menus and providing extra dining utensils to separate meals.

According to the capital's food and drug administration, as of April, Beijing had 63,800 cateringunits. Enditem
