BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.41 percent, at 3,168.96 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.25 percent lower at 10,631.12 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.60 percent to close at 1,845.97 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed lower on Wednesday.
The market extended losses, with the Sensex falling more than 300 points on further correction in oil, metals, FMCG and HDFC Group stocks.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index on Wednesday moved down 7.11 points or 0.40 percent to close at 1,753.60 points.
