Self-employed professionals receive Party theoretical education

Xinhua,May 07, 2018 Adjust font size:

CHANGSHA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- A total of 39 self-employed professionals from across the country are receiving Party-theory education for a week in the central Chinese city of Changsha.

The week-long program, the first of such programs sponsored by the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, opened Sunday, according to a press release from the department Monday.

The participants include painters, writers, composers, actors, artisans and people who work in state-listed intangible cultural heritage, the statement said.

Besides attending courses on Party theories and traditional literature, they will also hold seminars to discuss how to consolidate cultural confidence, and visit revolutionary sites and museums such as Shaoshan Mao Zedong Memorial Museum and Hunan Provincial Museum.

As part of the "new social strata," the self-employed are an important force for building socialism with Chinese characteristics, the statement said. Enditem
