Singapore stocks close 0.35 pct lower

SINGAPORE, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend down 0.35 percent or 12.52 points to close at 3532.86.

A total of 2.18 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.06 billion Singapore dollars (about 791.47 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 231 to 170.

The STI index closed down 0.85 percent or 30.3 points to close at 3545.38 on Friday. Enditem
