BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Timor-Leste upset defending champion Myanmar and tournament favourite Singapore in the 6th ASEAN Youth Football semifinals respectively on Wednesday.

Cambodia scored two consecutive goals in the first half to take the lead over Myanmar and managed to secure a 2-1 victory despite its fullback gifted Myanmar an own goal.

In another semifinal, Timor-Leste stunned Singapore 2-1.

The final will see two first-timers of the tournament Cambodia and Timor-Leste competing for the title on Saturday.

A total of seven U-22 teams from the Southeast Asian region are competing for the trophy in the biennial tournament.

The ASEAN youth football tournament was initiated by Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah back in 1997. The first tournament was won by Indonesia in 2002. Brunei beat Indonesia 2-0 in the 2012 final, but conceded the crown to Myanmar in 2014. Enditem
