KAMPALA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's KCCA FC have geared up for their first Group A game to Township Rollers FC in Botswana in the 2018 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.

Head coach Mike Mutebi told Xinhua in an interview on Monday that the team has now entered a residential camp and the players are responding well ahead of the game on May 4.

Mutebi said it will be important to battle and pick maximum points away from home before they host African giants Al Ahly (Egypt) in May in the second group game.

To become Uganda's first club to reach the group stage of the Champions League, KCCA FC eliminated CNaps FC of Madagascar and St. George (Ethiopia).

KCCA FC are grouped alongside Africa's record eight time champions Al Ahly (Egypt), Esperance (Tunisia) and Botswana champions Township Rollers FC.

The other top African team in the group stage include Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Horoya (Guinea), AS Togo (Togo), Diffa El Jadidi (Morocco), MC Alger (Algeria), ES Setif (Algeria), TP Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo), Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Mbabane Swallows (Swaziland), Zesco United (Zambia) and Angola's Primero de Agosto.
