KUWAIT CITY, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah condemned on Saturday a terrorist blast that occurred in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria in Egypt, the Kuwait News Agency said.

In a cable sent to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the Emir expressed condemnation on the terrorist blast, saying that the terrorist operation contradicted all covenants and humanitarian values.

He affirmed support for Egypt regarding any measure taken to safeguard its security and stability, expressing condolences to the president and the victim family.

An Egyptian policeman was killed and four others were also injured Saturday in Alexandria province in a bomb blast that targeted the region's security chief, according to Egyptian interior ministry.

The bomb, which was planted under a car, went off when the car of Alexandria's security commander passed by, the ministry said. Enditem
