French shares drop 1.38 pct on Thursday

PARIS, March 22 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.38 percent, or 72.53 points, to close at 5,167.21 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 38 lost in the day.

French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer Stmicroeletronics was down 4.57 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services TechnipFMC lost 3.75 percent. Schneider Electric,a European multinational corporation that specializes in energy management, automation solutions and services,lost 2.90 percent.

French multinational retailer Carrefour rose 0.53 percent. French company that produces distilled beverages Pernod Richard gained 0.26 percent. Enditem
