LIMA, March 21 -- Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski submitted his letter of resignation to lawmakers on Wednesday, a day ahead of a scheduled vote on whether or not to impeach him.

MALE -- Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen on Thursday lifted the state of emergency after a period of 45 days, stating the situation in the island country has now returned to normal, the President's Office said in a statement.

RAMADI, Iraq -- The Islamic State militants on Thursday killed four border guards in an ambush near the Iraqi border with neighboring Jordan, a security source said.
The incident occurred after midnight when the extremist militants opened fire on the car carrying the border guards, who were in civilian uniform, and killed them all on the main road near Trebil border crossing with Jordan. (Iraq-IS-Death) Enditem
