TIKRIT, Iraq -- Six people were killed and 13 injured by the extremist Islamic State (IS) militants who opened fire on civilians on a main road near Iraqi ethnically mixed town of Tuz-Khurmato in Iraq's central province of Salahudin, a provincial security source said on Wednesday.

The incident took place late on Tuesday night when IS militants attacked a number of civilian cars outside a restaurant on the main road in north of the town of Tuz-Khurmato, some 90 km east of the provincial capital Tikrit, Major Ali al-Baiyati from Salahudin's provincial police told Xinhua. DAMASCUS -- A total of 30 rebels surrendered to the Syrian army after evacuating the Harasta city in the capital Damascus' Eastern Ghouta area, said the War Media, the media wing of the Syrian army, on Wednesday.

The surrendering rebels reached the humanitarian corridor established recently by the Syrian army near the Water Resources facility in Harasta, said the report. (Syria-Eastern Ghouta)

JERUSALEM -- A Palestinian girl who was caught on a video slapping two Israeli soldiers agreed to sign a plea deal with the military prosecution on Wednesday, local media reported.

Ahed Tamimi, who was 16 at the time of the incident, would also have to pay a 5,000-shekel (about 1,430 U.S. dollars) according to reports. (Israel-Palestinian-Girl)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said they hit a warplane belonging to the Saudi-led coalition while flying over the Yemeni northern province of Saada on Wednesday.

"Our air defense forces fired a missile and hit an F-15 plane over Saada," the dominant group said in a statement posted on Saba news agency. (Yemen-Coalition-Plane) Enditem
