German shares close flat Wednesday

FRANKFURT, March 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 1.82 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 12,309.15 points.

Multinational chemical firm Linde won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 1.95 percent. German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas rose by 1.60 percent and 1.51 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 4.62 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and pharmaceutical company Merck went down by 2.05 percent and 1.57 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank was the most-traded share with a turnover of 425.32 million euros (522.54 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
