French shares drop 0.24 pct on Wednesday

PARIS, March 21 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.24 percent, or 12.69 points, to close at 5,239.74 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 27 lost in the day.

French multinational mirror manufacturer Compagnie De Saint-Gobain was down 1.77 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace-component and defense company Safran lost 1.62 percent. French multinational hotel group Accor lost 1.53 percent.

UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services TechnipFMC rose 2.92 percent. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer Stmicroelectronics gained 2.19 percent. French international luxury group Kering up 1.88 percent. Enditem
