Indonesian jiu-jitsu athletes to practice abroad for Asian Games

JAKARTA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Athletes of Indonesia's Jie-jitsu team will undergo training in Qatar and Japan ahead of the 18th Asian Games, a sport official disclosed here on Wednesday.

The athletes will train for one month in each of the two foreign nations, secretary of the country's jiu-jitsu association Dedy Triharjanto revealed.

"We need foreign trainers to boost the capabilities of our athletes," he said.

The athletes will leave for Qatar on April 12 and June 11 for Japan, he added.

Ten Indonesian jiu-jitsu athletes will compete in the regional sport event and their target is to secure medals, he noted.

The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2. Enditem
