Singapore stocks close 0.43 pct higher

SINGAPORE, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went up 0.43 percent or 15.02 points to close at 3513.31.

A total of 1.44 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 938.1 million Singapore dollars (about 712.91 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 224 to 195.

The STI index closed down 0.39 percent or 13.85 points to close at 3498.29 on Monday. Enditem
