Britain's Red Arrows plane crashes at RAF base

LONDON, March 20 (Xinhua) -- A Red Arrows plane has crashed with the pilot ejecting, media reports here said on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called shortly before 1:30 p.m. this afternoon to reports an aircraft had crashed at RAF Valley in Holyhead."

Ministry of Defence tweeted "We are aware of an incident today at RAF Valley involving a Hawk aircraft. We are investigating the incident."

The Red Arrows are at the base preparing for the coming display season.
