CAPE TOWN, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Tuesday:

-- Mark Kingon has been appointed as the acting commissioner of the South African Revenue Service, the National Treasury has confirmed.

Kingon is currently the acting chief officer of business and individual taxes division at the revenue service. (News24)

-- Food company Tiger Brands is again appealing to consumers to return all processed meats it produced after traces of listeria were found at its production plant in Pretoria.

This discovery follows the suspension of operations at the company's Germiston and Polokwane factories after they were linked to the listeriosis outbreak. (Eyewitness News)
