British stocks down 1.05 pct Tuesday

LONDON, March 13 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 75.98 points or 1.05 percent at 7,138.78 points.

Antofagasta, the Chilean mining group, soared 3.02 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Glencore and GKN rose by 2.07 percent and 1.39 percent, respectively.

BT Group, the British multinational telecommunications services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.34 percent. St James's Place, a British wealth management business, dropped 3.22 percent. WPP, the British multinational advertising and public relations company, dropped 3.01 percent. Enditem
