German shares gain 0.58 pct Monday

FRANKFURT, March 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 71.71 points, or 0.58 percent, to close at 12,418.39 points.

Energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 9.10 percent. Energy group E.ON and multinational chemical firm Linde rose by 5.49 percent and 3.64 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.80 percent. Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas down by 1.57 percent and 0.38 percent respectively.

RWE was the most-traded share with a turnover of 674.02 million euros (829.17 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
