French shares gain 0.29 pct on Friday

PARIS, March 16 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.29 percent, or 15.49 points, to close at 5,282.75 points.

17 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

Oil and gas firm Technipfmc advanced 2.05 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total rose 1.88 percent,followed by French banking company Credit Agricole, which gained 1.11 percent.

French distilled beverages company Pernod-Ricard went down by 1.48 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French luxury goods holding company Kering lost 1.19 percent. European aeronautic giant Airbus edged down 0.87 percent. Enditem
