MADRID, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Getafe defender Juan Cala on Tuesday joined the exodus of players leaving Spain for China in the recent days after his club accepted an offer of around 1.5 million euros from Chinese SuperLeague club Henan Jianye.

The 28-year-old joins Atletico Madrid duo Yannick Carrasco and Nico Gaitan, whose joint move to Dalian Yifang was confirmed on Monday for a joint fee in the region of around 45 million euros.

Cala leaves Getafe after 77 appearances in which he scored six goals and in a letter to the club's fans on Tuesday he explained it was a "very difficult personal moment" .

"At Getafe I found the stability I needed to grow as a footballer," he wrote, adding that he hoped to be "an ambassador for the club everywhere I go".

"Taking this decision is the hardest I have had to make in my career both for myself and my family. I spent hours thinking about it, but I have to be responsible with their future," commented Cala, who has previously played for Sevilla, AEK Athens, Cardiff City and Granada among others. Enditem
