Malaysian stock market closes higher

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Friday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,861.50 up 6.43 points or 0.35 percent, and the Emas was at 13,313.78 up 37.02 points or 0.28 percent.

There were 560 gainers,430 losers and 432 counters traded unchanged.

Turnover increase to 3.55 billion shares valued at 2.68 billion ringgit Malaysia (685.42 million U.S. dollars), compared with 2.34 billion shares valued at 2.06 billion ringgit Malaysia (526.85 million U.S. dollars) on Thursday.
