PYONGYANG -- Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un stressed Monday the importance of a thaw in relations between the two Koreas.

"It is important to continue making good results by further livening up the warm climate of reconciliation and dialogue created by the strong desire and common will of the North and the South with the PyeongChang Winter Olympics as a momentum," said Kim made when he met the DPRK high-level delegation upon its return Sunday night after a three-day visit to the South Korea. JOHANNESBURG -- South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) on Monday gave President Jacob Zuma an ultimatum to resign in 48 hours or he will be recalled.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin spoke over phone on Monday to discuss the Russian plane crash as well as issues concerning the Middle East peace process and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

WASHINGTON -- The United States and Israel held their first foreign policy dialogue here Monday to discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest, the U.S. State Department said in a statement.
