NAIROBI, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Tuesday.

-- When parliament resumes business Tuesday afternoon, one of the many challenges it would grapple with is its quality of debate at a time when the House is caught between a bulldozing executive and a weakened opposition. On the cross also is the independence of the country's legislative functions and democracy itself.

The political tussle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga is playing on the floor of the House where MPs have been whipped to adopt radical party positions. Opposition MPs have in the last months snubbed various sittings of the House depending on the issue at hand. (Daily Nation)

-- Opposition coalition National Super Alliance is planning to swear-in leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the deputy People's President in Nairobi at the end of February. Musyoka who skipped an earlier ceremony in which Raila Odinga took oath has bowed to pressure. (The Star)
