CAIRO, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit has condemned the twin car bomb attack in the Libyan city of Benghazi on Tuesday night that killed at least 33 people and injured dozens.

In a statement, Aboul-Gheit said the Arab League fully supports the Libyan state and its national army in fighting terrorism and extremist groups who seek to destabilize the country and abort all political efforts to unite the Libyan people.

He also called on all Libyans to unite in order to uproot terror.

On Tuesday, two car bombs exploded outside a mosque in Salmani district of eastern Libyan's Benghazi city, killing and injuring tens of worshippers who were leaving the mosque after the evening prayer. Enditem
