DAVOS, Switzerland -- The principal contradiction in China's economic development is the structural mismatch resulting from the supply side failing to evolve in step with the demand, a senior Chinese official said Wednesday at the World Economic Forum (WEF).

This aspect of China's economic policy urgently needs to be fixed, said Liu He, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the General Office of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs, in his speech at WEF. MOSCOW -- Russia on Wednesday slammed the United States for accusing it of being involved in a chemical attack in eastern Syria, calling in "unacceptable".

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow does not agree with Washington's approach to investigating the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria, local media reported.

"We categorically disagree with the approach of the Americans, who are following the path of derailing real international investigations of previous cases, and prefer to stick labels groundlessly," Peskov told the press. (Russia-US-Syria)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday the end of its anti-corruption campaign that led to the arrest of princes and top officials, Al Arabiya local news reported.

The announcement was made through a government official's Twitter account, saying the detainees who refused "financial settlements" were being referred to the Public Prosecution.

Most detainees agreed to settlements which cover cash, real estate and other assets, the tweet said. (Saudi-Anti-Corruption)

PRAGUE -- Czech President Milos Zeman accepted on Wednesday the resignation of Prime Minister Andrej Babis's minority government at Prague Castle.

At the same time, Zeman assigned Babis's government to govern until the appointment of a new government.

NEW DELHI -- At least 4 policemen were killed and seven others wounded Wednesday in a gunfight in central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, officials said.
