JAKARTA, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Games Committee (Inasgoc) has reopened recruitment of volunteers for the 18th Asian Games to be held this year.

The chairman of Inasgoc Eric Thohir made the announcment on Thursday.

"We will train them so that they can be fully part of the activities when game time comes," he said.

Inasgoc needs 13,000 volunteers for the Games. 11,000 of them will be placed in Jakarta and the rest in Palembang city in South Sumatra province, said Thohir.
