Indian markets close higher

MUMBAI, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Thursday.

Benchmark indices ended at fresh record closing high despite late volatility, with the Sensex trading higher by more than 150 points.

Metals, oil & gas and PSU banks stocks dragged while private banks and select technology stocks continued to support the market.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 35,260.29, 178.47 points or 0.51 percent up compared to its previous close at 35,081.82. Enditem
