LUSAKA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Wednesday.
-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu said he was determined to eradicate child marriage as it was a loss to mankind to deny a child education on account of wedlock. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- Authorities in Zambia have launched investigations into suspected cases of fake chlorine on the market in Lusaka, the country's capital, following an outbreak of cholera.
Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said following the outbreak of cholera, the water-purifying chemical was on high demand, resulting in companies taking advantage of this and starting producing chlorine. (Times of Zambia)
-- Zambia said it will maximize its position on the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ Troika to coordinate peace and security efforts in the region.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji said as Zambia assumes the chairmanship of the SADC Organ Troika on Politics, Defense and Security Cooperation in August, it would ensure that it coordinate peace and security efforts in the region. (Daily Nation)
