French shares gain 0.07 pct on Tuesday

PARIS, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.07 percent, or 4.13 points, to close at 5,513.82 points.

Some 21 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French concessions and construction company Vinci advanced 3.5 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French multinational automobile manufacturer Peugeot rose 1.76 percent,followed by French tire group Michelin, which gained 1.68 percent.

Oil and gas firm Technipfmc went down by 2.5 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total lost 0.9 percent. French multinational mass media conglomerate Vivendi edged down 0.87 percent. Enditem
