German shares close flat Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 45.82 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 13,246.33 points.

Automotive manufacturer BMW won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.95 percent. Volkswagen and housing association Vonovia rose by 2.10 percent and 1.06 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical firm Linde lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.59 percent. German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and building materials company HeidelbergCement went down by 1.50 percent and 1.47 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 359.66 million euros (439.86 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
