13 Vietnamese fishermen missing in Beibu Gulf

HANOI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Search continued on Monday for 13 Vietnamese fishermen who have remained unaccounted for since two fishing ships sank and one boat went missing in the Beibu Gulf.

On Jan. 9, the two fishing ships sank to the south-southeast of northern Hai Phong city, leaving 11 fishermen missing amid strong winds and rough sea, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday.

On the same day, a fishing boat with seven fishermen on board also lost contact with the mainland.

To date, five sailors from the two fishing ships have been rescued. Enditem
