SEOUL -- A senior South Korean diplomat will visit the United States this week amid the restored talks between South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Seouls foreign ministry said on Monday.

Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam will visit Washington and New York from Tuesday to Saturday. In Washington, Lim will meet with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and other U.S. government officials.(S.Korea-U.S.-Visit)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia's stock exchange administrator has ordered the resumption of the trading after the collapse of the first floor in stock exchange building that injured dozens on Monday.

SEOUL -- South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed to hold talks this week about the DPRK's participation in the South Korea-hosted Winter Olympics, according to Seoul's unification ministry.

South Korea agreed to the DPRK's revised proposal earlier in the day for holding vice ministerial-level talks from 10:00 a.m. local time Wednesday at Peace House, a building in the South Korean side of the truce village of Panmunjom, the ministry said in a statement.(S.Korea-DPRK-talks)

TOKYO -- Two of Japan's opposition parties on Monday exchanged a document on consensus on their basic policies as they agreed to form an alliance in parliament.
