German shares close flat Friday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 42.13 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 13,245.03 points.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.33 percent. Reinsurance company Munich Re and energy group RWE rose by 1.58 percent and 1.40 percent respectively.

German personal-care company Beiersdorf lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.00 percent. Commerzbank and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group went down by 1.50 percent and 1.28 percent respectively.

German multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 312.01 million euros (378.68 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
