CAPE TOWN, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Friday.

-- President Jacob Zuma hosted the newly elected Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta at his Dr John L Dube House residence in Durban on Thursday.

The talks between the two presidents, and a number of Cabinet ministers, took almost two hours while the media waited for them outside the residence. (News24)

-- The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation said on Thursday they welcome the announcement by President Jacob Zuma on the establishment of the judicial commission of inquiry into state capture.

The foundation's Executive Director Neeshan Balton said that while it is a step in the right direction, details about the terms of reference and scope of the commission are required. (South African Broadcasting Corporation)
