LUSAKA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has expressed concern that some collaborative programs with Saudi Arabia have not been implemented.

The Zambian has since instructed some of his ministers to travel to Saudi Arabia to investigate what has been hindering effective implementation of programs. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government has warned police officers involved in criminal activities and wrong doing to expect punitive action as government has resolved to maintain high levels of discipline in order to bring sanity to the public service.

Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo said in reaction to the arrest of three police officers who were found with counterfeit money that it was unfortunate that police officers who were supposed to guard against law breakers were the ones breaking the law with impunity. (Daily Nation)

-- Namibia has started to screen Zambians attempting to enter that country to avoid the spread of cholera.

The Namibian government, which has already imposed a provisional ban on the importation of all perishable food, fruits, unprocessed food and water from Zambia until further notice following the outbreak of cholera, has stationed health officials and police officers at its border with Zambia who were not allowing anyone suspected of being ill.
