Chicago agricultural commodities settle lower

CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) grains closed lower on Thursday, with soybean futures falling to a four-month low ahead of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data due on Friday.

Wheat futures also eased after weekly U.S. wheat export sales came in below analyst expectations, while corn futures were nearly unchanged.

The most active corn contract for March delivery fell 0.25 cent, or 0.07 percent, to close at 3.4875 dollars per bushel. March wheat delivery went down one cent, or 0.23 percent, to close at 4.3325 dollars per bushel. March soybeans dropped five cents, or 0.52 percent, to settle at 9.5 dollars per bushel.

Private exporters reported to the USDA on Thursday that through the week ending January 4, they've sold 37,700 tons of corn, 71,500 tons of wheat, and 617,400 tons of soybeans over international market. Enditem
