Three Zambian police officers arrested over counterfeit money

LUSAKA, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Zambian authorities said on Wednesday that they had arrested three police officers who were found in possession of counterfeit notes.

Theresa Katongo, spokesperson of the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), which also deals with money laundering, said the arrested included a chief police inspector, a female inspector and a sergeant.

She said the three police officers were found in possession of over two million Zambian Kwacha (about 200,000 U.S. dollars) counterfeit notes in Lusaka, the country's capital, when they were about to transact. Enditem
