Singapore stocks close 0.12 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.12 percent, or 4.2 points, to close at 3,520.45.

A total of 1.85 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.13 billion Singapore dollars (about 844.12 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 250 to 201.

The STI index closed up 0.36 percent, or 12.47 points, to close at 3,524.65 on Tuesday. Enditem
