4th International Winter Swimming Invitational Tournament starts in Dunhua

CHANGCHUN, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The 4th International Winter Swimming Invitational Tournament kicked off in Dunhua in northeast China's Jilin province on Wednesday. This is the fourth time that Dunhua has played host to the event.

Roughly 3,200 athletes, guests and leaders from 61 teams and 25 countries and regions attended the event. The tournament includes the likes of Algeria, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Russia, Guinea, Garner and Zimbabwe all taking part. The youngest athlete is only three years old and the oldest is 73.

Li Boyang is a Moroccan athlete who participated in several winter swimming events around the world. He says that he enjoyed this competition because of the enthusiasm on display.

Ji Guilan, who won the 50m breaststroke event, is 65 years old. She spoke highly of winter swimming and said it improved her physical and mental health. Enditem
