German shares close flat Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Jan 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 17.81 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 13,385.59 points.

German tire specialist Continental won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 5.12 percent. Chemical firm Linde and consumer goods company Henkel rose by 3.81 percent and 1.68 percent respectively.

German maker of sportswear and equipment Adidas lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.34 percent. Energy group E.ON and airlines Lufthansa went down by 1.83 percent and 1.38 percent respectively.

Continental was the most-traded share with a turnover of 395.78 million euros (472.24 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
