French shares gain 0.30 pct Monday

PARIS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.30 percent, or 16.67 points, to close at 5,487.42 points.

French multinational car manufacturer Renault advanced 1.46 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational hotel group Accor rose 1.39 percent, followed by French multinational insurance firm AXA, which gained 1.22 percent.

French retail giant Carrefour went down by 3.11 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational luxury goods conglomerate, LVMH, lost 1.60 percent, and French luxury goods holding company Kering edged down 1.14 percent. Enditem
