Nigeria target gold at African handball National Cup

ABUJA, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Handball Federation of Nigeria on Monday said they target a gold medal at the 23rd edition of the Senior Men's African Nations Cup in Gabon.

President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Sam Ocheho told reporters in Lagos that the team was ready and committed to doing well at the championship.

Nigeria's 18-man team will depart on Tuesday to Libreville, the capital of Gabon, where the competition will hold be from Jan. 17-28.

Nigeria will open camps in the neighboring Benin Republic and Togo, playing friendly matches with their hosts, Ocheho said. Enditem
