Kuwait, Saudi Arabia vow to upgrade ties through closer cooperation

KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on Sunday vowed to boost the bilateral cooperation and lift their relations to a new level.

The discussions were held by Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah with his visiting Saudi counterpart Abdulaziz bin Saud.

The Kuwaiti minister hailed the "exceptional" ties between the two countries, stressing their common desire to take their relations to a new level.

Describing the talks as "productive," Abdulaziz bin Saud said that both sides discussed the issues of mutual interests and reached consensus on a number of regional and international issues.

They also touched on current security conditions in the region as well as the fight against terrorism.

The Saudi interior minister arrived in Kuwait on Saturday for a three-day visit. Enditem
