NAIROBI, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Sunday.

-- Shock and confusion gripped Cabinet Secretaries and their principal assistants as it emerged President Uhuru Kenyatta could have lost confidence in more than three quarters of the ministers.

His decision to fire 13 ministers painted an image of impending bloodbath for other senior officers as he moves to form a government that he hopes would deliver on his legacy promises. In naming the new officials, the president had shown a major departure from the past where loyalty, regional balance and friendship was rewarded. (Standard on Sunday)
