French shares gain 1.05 pct Friday

PARIS, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.05 percent, or 57.06 points, to close at 5,470.75 points.
A total of 37 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French multinational automobile manufacturer Peugeot advanced 4.35 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe rose 2.81 percent, and French car manufacturer Renault gained 2.32 percent.
Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal went down by 0.91 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. European aeronautic giant Airbus edged down 0.26 percent and French banking company Credit Agricole lost 0.17 percent. Enditem
