NEW DELHI -- At least seven people including six school children were killed and 10 others injured Friday after their bus collided head-on with a goods truck in central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, local officials said.

The accident took place near Bicholi road in Indore district, about 192 km west of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. (India-Accident)

KABUL -- Thirty-three militants were killed, and 18 injured as Afghan National Defense and Security Forces continued in mopping-up operations in different provinces since early Thursday, the country's Defense Ministry said Friday.

"During the cleanup and military operations, the ANDSF also destroyed seven insurgents' control and command posts, two vehicles and 12 motorcycles and arrested two insurgents," the ministry said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Operations)

CAPE TOWN -- A minibus taxi overturned on a highway in Western Cape Province of South Africa, killing nine on Friday, said authorities.

MANILA -- The Philippines lauded on Friday the decision of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to re-start high-level talks with South Korea, expressing optimism the dialogue "would lead to meaningful progress" in efforts to bring peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.

RIYADH -- Saudi-led coalition in a war in Yemen against Houthi militias announced on Friday the interception of a ballistic missile from Yemen towards the border city Najran, Saudi Press Agency reported.
