FAW-VW sells over 2 mln cars in 2017

CHANGCHUN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Sino-German auto joint venture FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW) saw its sales volume exceeding 2 million in 2017, up by 5 percent year on year, the company said Friday.

According to the company, based in Changchun of northeast China's Jilin Province, it sold over 1.405 million Volkswagen cars and 595,288 Audi cars, registering an annual growth of 6.8 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively.

In 2017, the 15-millionth car produced in the company rolled off the production line.

The joint venture was formed in 1991 by Chinese auto maker FAW Group and Germany-based Volkswagen Group.

It is expected that the company's annual output will reach 3 million in 2020. Enditem
