29 preschoolers sick with suspected food poisoning in SW China

KUNMING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- A total of 29 kindergarten children have been sent to hospital with suspected food poisoning in southwest China's Yunnan Province, the local government said Saturday.

The suspected food poisoning occurred Friday afternoon at Futai kindergarten, a private institution in Xishan district, Kunming City, capital of Yunnan.

The children reported vomiting and stomach pains. The kindergarten reported the incident to Xishan district education bureau, which activated an emergency response, the district government said in a statement.

The children have been sent to three hospitals for treatment and are in stable condition. An investigation is underway. Enditem
